CSCC exists to glorify Christ on the University of South Carolina campus with the lives of students through worship, Bible study, relationships, and Godly social interaction. We are united in Christ but diverse in ethnicity, interests, nationalities, and backgrounds. CSCC's intent is to be counter-cultural as we emphasize the love, faith, and lifestyle found in God's Word. Beliefs are sought in the Bible only, rather than denominational traditions or any other worldviews. Regardless of your church affiliation, or even if you don't have one, if you are a Christian and want to grow in your faith and understanding of the Word, or if you're not a Christian and want to learn about God and His salvation you will enjoy CSCC. FALL SCHEDULE 2008 Sundays at 7:00 PM On-Campus Worship starts August 17th and is held weekly in Russell House room 303. Come join us for praise singing, communion, prayer, motivation from God's Word, and good friends. Wednesdays at 7:00 PM University Bible Study starts August 20th and is held weekly in RH 303. Campus Minister and Student Officers Marvin Sapp, Kaitlin Shaw, and Sarah Fabry are serving as student organization officers this semester for CSCC. Randy Gore is CSCC Campus Minister and is also the Church of Christ Chaplain for USC. He is available individually for spiritual help, counseling, or guidance in helping you to become a Christian. SPECIAL EVENTS DURING THE YEAR Tailgates Before Gamecock Football During football season, Student Church sometimes hosts tailgates before games in the Roost front parking lot across from the soccer stadium, under the trees.  Tailgate dates and times are chosen as football times are announced. Spring Retreat CSCC takes a yearly weekend retreat in April to Palmetto Bible Camp in the Blue Ridge Mountains of South Carolina. Fall Retreat CSCC meets up with other campus ministries from the Carolinas (Clemson, UNC, Appalachian State, etc.) in October for a weekend of spiritual renewal, fellowship, and praise to God. This year we will be going to South Mountain Christian Center in the foothills of North Carolina near Forest City. Registration information will be available in September. Gulf Coast Getaway This Campus Ministries Conference is held in Panama City, Florida during the Martin Luther King weekend in January. About 2,000 college students come together this weekend for a wonderful time of worship and edification. Further information will be provided in the fall and registration will take place before leaving for the Christmas break. May Mission Trips Mission Trips are planned for the end of each school year.  In 2004, we traveled to Bangor, Maine to help a mission church and serve the needy in the Name of Jesus. In 2005 we went to Miami, Florida to work with Hialeah Urban Mission.  In 2006 we went to Pascagoula, Mississippi to do Katrina rebuilding work with the Central Church of Christ relief effort (www.123Jesus.com). Palmetto Bible Camp In June some of our Carolina students will spend a week on Staff at this Christian youth camp letting God use them to help teens grow spiritually.
