We extend a warm invitation to you and your children to join us at your opportunity. We praise God for the gift of children and are blessed with many unique boys and girls at Palmetto. They often teach us by their examples of love and acceptance.
Our volunteers provide a caring atmosphere where your child can explore and develop at his or her own pace. The children feel cherished and valued as they begin to discover God's plan for their lives. The entire family can be involved in our various classes and special events that allow time for creating friendships and strengthening bonds with the church family. Please consider being a part of a growing and exciting ministry as we seek to know, follow, and share Jesus Christ together.
Our Mission
The mission of the children's education ministry of Palmetto Church of Christ is to guide our children to know, follow and share Jesus Christ. We will meet their developmental needs through Bible Study, group activities and individual interaction and provide a Christian environment where they will be nurtured and cherished.
Our Staff/Volunteers
The teaching staff is dedicated to the mission of this church family. Our teachers love the Lord and love serving Him in the children's ministry. We delight in seeing each child mature in Christ and are privileged to be a part of this growing process.
Age-Appropriate Classes
Cradle Roll - a delightful class where your infant up to 24 months can learn about the Bible and the wonderful world around them. Each class is filled with songs, rhymes and lessons to stimulate their senses and introduce them to simple truths about God. The Cradle Roll class is located in the main building.
Preschool - an energetic format for your preschooler where they focus on Bible lessons geared toward their level of understanding. The classes are designed to assist the children learn through hands-on experiences and play. The preschoolers meet upstairs in the education building.
Elementary - active classes developed to meet the various stages of growth of the elementary student. Each class presents ways for children to mature physically, socially and spiritually as they learn about specific Bible characters and how we can relate to their experiences. Elementary classes meet upstairs in the education building.
Pre-teen - a comfortable environment where fifth and sixth graders can be themselves and learn how they fit into God's plan. They are challenged to demonstrate the Bible truths they have learned and model Christ's love for the world to see. The pre-teen class is upstairs in the education building.
Kids with a King
Children's Worship
We offer an opportunity for parents of children ages 3 through 5K to concentrate on their own worship experience. Children are dismissed during the 10:45 am service for a special worship. Parents can pick up their kids promptly after worship.
Kids Care Team
The Kids Care Team is comprised of children ages 3 years through sixth grades who are eager to do acts of service to encourage and uplift those around them. Their goal is to show love and appreciation toward the community and our own church family. They also learn valuable lessons in giving and sharing the message of Christ. This is a great way for your children to learn about the importance of service to others.
Leadership Training for Christ Program
We are proud to be a part of the Eastern
Region Leadership Training for Christ program. Students in 3rd-6th grades
are invited to participate in specific challenges and events in order to
help them grow in Bible knowledge, personal development and spritiual
growth. These activites promote confidence and teamwork. In the
spring, we will attend the annual convention in Charlotte, NC where
participants complete their practiced events and are acknowledged for their
accomplishments.
Special Activities
We offer a variety of events and activities
throughout the year. They are wonderful ways for your child to develop socially
and spiritually. Friendships (of the children and the parents) are
created and grown during these times of fun and fellowship. Some recent
events include: Winter Beach Blast, Vacation Bible School, Kidz Care
projects, nursing home visits, 4th of July cookout, and Fall Festival.
Visitors and their families are always welcomed to the Palmetto Kidz
special activities.
